A family-owned building company based in South Auckland
We are selective about the projects we take and the people we put on site. That is where the name comes from, and it is the part of the business we are least willing to compromise on.

Selective Construction is a family business. It started with residential work in South Auckland and has grown steadily on the back of referrals rather than advertising, which is why most of our clients arrive already knowing someone we have built for.
Since 2017 we have completed more than 100 renovations and around 150 new homes. Some are large whole-house projects and some are a single well-executed room. What they have in common is that someone had to hold the detail together.
Around nine out of ten of our jobs are for homeowners. The rest is subcontract work for other builders and developers, which keeps the team busy between residential projects.

We started this company in 2017 with one rule we have never compromised on: we would rather turn work down than use a tradesperson we would not trust to work in our own home.
That is where the name comes from. We are selective about the projects we take, and we are selective about the people we put on site. It is the reason most of our work still comes from people who were referred by someone we built for, rather than from advertising.
If you are planning something substantial, we would rather have an honest conversation about whether we are the right fit than send you a quote that does not hold.
From first call to final walkthrough, our process is the same for every project - a site visit, a quantity-surveyor-prepared price, and a plan you can see before work starts.
