What the house needed

This Pukekohe home needed attention inside and out. The kitchen had missing cupboard doors and heavily stained walls, while other rooms showed damaged wall linings, worn timber floors and ageing windows. Outside, peeling paint, a weathered porch and discarded furniture added to the neglected appearance. The renovation needed to bring these spaces back into everyday use while retaining the home’s weatherboard character.

What we did

  • Installed a modern kitchen with charcoal cabinetry, timber-look overhead cupboards and a white tiled splashback.
  • Refreshed the rooms with neutral paint, timber-look flooring and updated lighting.
  • Renovated the bathroom with marble-look tiles, a timber-look vanity and modern fittings, alongside an updated separate toilet.
  • Replaced the old windows with black-framed joinery and updated the entrance door.
  • Repainted the weatherboard exterior and renewed the front porch with timber decking and steps.
  • Added a spacious rear timber deck with white balustrades.
  • Tidied the grounds and completed concrete paths and a black entrance gate.
